Well, as I wait for my laundry to spin dry I just wanted to let people know (if they didn’t already) that Europe is pretty awesome. The scene here in Paris is growing. Most of the impro —not improv, impro— in Paris is “match” style, aka LNI from Quebec. The people we’re working with, Eux Impro, have been doing Harolds and are moving on to other longform formats. We’re having a blast working with them and watching them play (Ian, you’re missing out!).
I love the exchange of ideas, of styles, of approaches that comes with meeting entirely different improv cultures. Impro needs to interact to fuse new ideas together. They should not become copies of each other but become stronger hybrids because of the interaction.
Two more workshops here and then off to Belgium.
If you have any questions, fire away on the sidebar and we’ll answer as soon as we can. We have a couple questions already in the queue and we’ll get to them shortly…
Later!
